Spring News!

Posted on by barakarobin

Well Hello Spring!  Hard to believe that it has been so long, since I posted.  It’s 10 PM on Sunday night, so this will be a quick one.

I have had my work hanging at Free Movement Massage & Wellness in Beverly Farms, MA, since January 22nd.  It is a beautiful healing space, and the owner, Colleen Linehan, is a gifted massage therapist.  On April 12th, Colleen is holding a wellness night.  Come on down to 26 West St. for mini-massages & energy sessions.  I will be there, & I’m going to be offering some specials that night on my my artwork.

Also, I am so happy that Luna Sea at 18 Market St. in Ipswich is now carrying my C.G. Goddess, Angel & Nature Spirit Prints.  This is a fabulous shop, with creative offerings from all over the world.  Check it out!  You will not want to leave!

I will also be offering 8.5″ x 11″ c.g. prints of my Landscapes on my website, www.barakarobinberger.com/blog/store.  They should be up by the end of next week.

That’s about all for the moment.  Next time I will try to have something mire profound to share…. But till then ~ Have a Glorious Spring!

Welcome 2012!

Posted on by barakarobin

Here we are…2012 has arrived & everyone I talk to is expecting it to be a good one. But then, in creeps the tough stuff.  WAIT! 2011 wasn’t easy…aren’t we due for a break?  Just a few years ago, I might have a tough couple weeks, but it would be followed with a really great month before the next challenge would pop up.  Now everything is moving so fast that we hardly have time to breathe..  One clobber after the other.

Now that breath is ever more important… we NEED to take it.  Take it when it’s a rough day – in fully, then out all the way with conviction.  Take it when it is a good moment…in deep, savor a moment, out gently & fully.  It’s the breath that gets us through… & noticing the good times – honoring them & the challenging ones as well.  I have this thought that the difficulties will hammer us, until we honor them.  What are we to learn from these times, good & bad?

I think we have to make time to find our inner peace; to meditate; to pray & to be reverent.  Without finding the sacred within ourselves, there seems to be little purpose & little hope.  And finding that within the work we do.  It’s the sacred moments that make our lives most satisfying.  If we don’t like our jobs, but we have no other options at the present to change them, we can find the sacred in that we are providing food & shelter for our families.  Not always easy, I know.  But, it can be the difference in our ability to survive.

Well, I have a bunch of resolutions for the new year.  The first is to make sure I look for opportunity to find the sacred in something each day, to offer something beautiful to the world each day, & to spend, even 5 minutes in meditation in the pursuit of my own inner peace each day.  I believe that 2012 is going to be a good year, a profound & important year.  But I do know that shadows will appear to throw us that curve ball..

Hopefully, I will remember to breathe.

Happy new year everyone!  Bless.

Solstice is Upon Us & The Light is Returning

Posted on by barakarobin

It’s interesting to me how the light begins to return even as we approach the deepest phase of winter.  That glimmer is held in the most challenging time of year, like a glimmer of hope in the darkest night.

So I think it’s important to put some little bit of ‘light’ into our world especially when things may seem so difficult ‘out there’.  I can’t help but notice all the inspirational quotes people are posting on facebook.  Little affirmations for our everyday life. Songs & films about love and spirit…artwork as well.

This is a beautiful thing, a community service, so to speak.  Reminding those in their most difficult times, that the light will return.  It helps us to seek out the light…get away from our dark thoughts…and it helps us not to feed the fires of fear & to take a break from the doom & gloom that pervades the media.

My thing…I post a piece of art everyday on FB.  I want to bring beauty into the world…my version of light.  About 20 years ago I wrote a vision statement; artistic statement, if you will.  I was taking a fabulous course called Artists Entrepreneurs with Rondalyn Whitney, & this was the first assignment.

I’d like to share it here:

“I hold the belief that if we simply surround ourselves with beauty, we will learn to expect it.  Out of this expectation we will turn around and create more beauty.

What’s possible is this:  The world will become a magnificent place.”

This statement set the intention behind my  artwork for the next 2 decades & beyond.

With so many people contributing inspiration in the forms of writing, films, artwork & music nowadays, I have faith that humanity is, indeed, learning to see the magnificence of our world.

Thus we disarm the forces of negativity, shift the paradigm, shift our way of seeing & being, help our brothers and sisters everywhere, & make our world ALL it can be.

Blessings to all on this Solstice & all Holidays celebrating the all pervading light residing within and emerging out of the darkness!

Angels, Goddesses, Faeries & Holiday Open Studios

Posted on by barakarobin

Why do I paint images of the Divine Feminine? This is a question that I have been asked many times.

Actually, the answer is quite simple. I truly believe that our world has been out of balance;
awaiting the return of the feminine face of god. Not to replace our male gods, but to join them.

NO matter what our belief system, male gods have dominated the world view for millenia.
We have known war and greed for money & power, since the goddess was wiped out from
the awareness of the masses after having been the primary form of worship in Neolithic
Europe for over 20,000 years.

It’s time for a paradigm shift! Actually, the shift has happened… the powers that be are trying to stop it, but it is upon us…so let’s open our eyes to see the truth. Divinity includes ALL.

All beings, all creatures, all nature ~ masculine and feminine…
JUST ALL. Divinity is LOVE not FEAR. Divinity is taking care
of all beings, all creatures & all life in all the cosmos.

So, I paint the Divine Feminine.. to do my part & to put this energetic into the universe;
to contribute a visual & help us all understand the Divinity we hold within our beings as part of the ONE.

It’s my work… I didn’t start out with such lofty aspirations. Honestly. It unfolded ~ took me along for the ride.

I’m not the only artist, writer, musician doing this. It is happening all over.
Google goddess art, goddess music & chants, books about the goddess…
women’s studies at universities, lectures, etc. Read ‘The Chalice & the Blade’ [Eisler];
‘When God Was A Woman’ [Stone]‘ ‘The Expected One’ & ‘The Book of Love’ [McGowan], to name a few ~

Listen to Deva Premal’s music, Shawna Carol; see Archetypal Oracle card decks.
Update your knowledge of what is going on in our world outside the box.

Feel it. It doesn’t hurt; it’s not dangerous; it’s only love.

Please check out my website: www.barakarobinberger.com

I will be holding open studios on Sundays in December till Christmas.
If you are near Gloucester, Massachusetts, come on by.

Happy Holidays to All.

Changes

Posted on by barakarobin

Today I am starting a new blog.  I had decided to upload all my old posts to my new blog.  It’s been a little hard on my hands, I must say.

There were some strange looking bits and pieces on past posts, as I may have not edited them thoroughly after cutting and pasting.  So they are now deleted .. until or unless I decide to try again.

I am excited that I will be having a store AND paypal on my website.  Hopefully this will make it more convenient for those who are interested in making purchases of my artwork.  Other new ‘things’ are in the works which I will keep you posted about as they evolve.  It’s too soon to explain, so please, keep checking in for updates.

Till the next time… I hope you are enjoying our precious summer!

Many Blessings!
